The short version

Vespil reminds you about bills you still need to pay. To do that, the app needs no account, no server and no sign-up.

Your bills stay on your device. With Vespil Pro they also sync between your devices through your own personal iCloud — inside your Apple account, which only you can access.

There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no sharing with third parties. The developer of this app never sees your bill data.

2. What data the app holds

Everything in Vespil is entered by you or captured by scanning a QR bill. Depending on the bill, that includes:

Payee name, amount, currency, due date
Optionally: IBAN, reference number, payee address, note, category
Optionally: photos or PDF documents you attach
Settings such as your reminder time or dark mode preference

Vespil does not make payments and does not verify payment details. It is a reminder tool, not payment software.

3. Where that data is stored

Free version

Your data is stored locally on your device only. It is included in your regular iPhone backup if you have one set up, so it is not lost if your device is. That backup is governed by Apple’s terms.

Vespil Pro: syncing through iCloud

With Vespil Pro, your bills are written to the private database of your own iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit and kept in sync across your devices. This means:

The data lives in your Apple account, not on any server operated by the developer.
The developer of this app has no access to it and can neither read nor analyse it.
Storage with Apple is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
You can stop syncing at any time by turning iCloud off for Vespil in your iOS settings.

4. Permissions

Vespil only asks for permissions that a specific feature needs. You can revoke any of them at any time in your iOS settings.

Camera — for scanning QR bills and photographing documents. The camera image is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. A scanned QR code is filled straight into the form; the image itself is not stored unless you deliberately save it as an attachment.
Photo library — only when you pick an existing image as an attachment yourself. Vespil does not read your library beyond that.
Notifications — for your reminders. These are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No push messages are sent from any server, and the content of your reminders never leaves your device.

5. Purchases

Vespil Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer receives no payment details from Apple — only aggregated, anonymous sales reports. Card or bank details are never passed to the app.

6. What Vespil does not do

No analytics, statistics or tracking tools
No advertising and no ad networks
No sharing or selling of data to third parties
No user accounts and no sign-up
No third-party components that could collect data
No server of its own where content would be stored

7. Retention and deletion

There is no automatic retention period, because you decide what stays. You are in full control at all times:

Delete individual bills directly in the app; their attachments are removed with them.
In Settings you can remove the attachments of archived bills in one go.
Deleting the app removes the locally stored data with it.
Data held in iCloud is managed through your Apple account in your iOS settings.

8. Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law and comparable regulations you have rights to access, correct, delete and receive a copy of your data.

With Vespil these rights largely have nothing to attach to — in your favour: because the developer does not collect, store or have access to any of your data, there is nothing on his side to disclose or erase. Control rests entirely with you and your device.

9. Children

Vespil is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data from children. As the app transmits no data to the developer at all, no particular risk arises in this respect.

10. Changes to this policy

If what Vespil does changes, this policy is updated accordingly. The date of the last change appears at the top of this page. Significant changes are additionally announced in the app.
